In this episode, I will show you how to safely disconnect and reconnect a gas line, first mark the original positions of all threaded joints. Turn on the burners to clear the gas lines, then shut off the gas supply. Use two 12-inch adjustable wrenches to loosen the top fittings while keeping the bottom secure. Flare fittings create a metal-to-metal seal, so no Teflon tape or sealant is needed. During renovations, wrap the gas hose to prevent damage. After reinstalling, align the marks, tighten the fittings, and turn the gas back on. Test for leaks with soapy water—bubbles indicate a leak. Once confirmed safe, ignite the burners. Done correctly, this is a simple DIY task.
